Got another one with Blue Origin. This is going to be a farging cool one too. I get to demolish the entire interior of the old blockhouse at the old LC-36 site where they're building their new launch complex. This thing is extremely cool! They don't have power back in the facility yet, so the walk-down was by flashlight, so pics will have to wait for now, but the equipment and electronics were as if they simply put the place in stasis and locked the doors for half a century. The must and mold was pretty overwhelming, but it was a trip back in time, and pretty damn cool. I kind of felt like a burglar doing it by flashlight and all as well.
This thing was built to actually sit inside and watch launches in real-time wile only a hundred yards from the launch pad. That's nuts! It consists of a huge dome of concrete one foot thick that sits on top of stabilized, roller compacted sand [1.5% portland + 98.5% sand] which sits on a dome that is 8' thick reinforced concrete. Inside there are two periscopes that are used to view outside and can rotate 270 degrees [they still work].
Can't wait to get some pics for you all.
